Social media pages have been spreading rumors that seven dentists in Kirkuk have contracted AIDS. One post garnered over 2,000 likes and 607 comments, and was shared by 30 people.

The director of the Kirkuk Health Department, Arjan Rashid, stated to KirkukNow that these rumors are completely false, adding, "Everything that has been published is just rumors."
The Kirkuk Health Department released a statement refuting the claims, "We deny the rumors circulating on some social media platforms that seven dentists in the province have contracted AIDS."
The statement also warned that the Health Department will take legal action against those who spread false news and rumors through the appropriate legal channels.
