Two abductees found dead in Ryaz, south western Kirkuk

        Kirkuk Security Forces found two persons killed after being kidnapped the day before

Sources confirmed to KirkukNow that the two bodies the security forces found were the two persons who were abducted on February 3, 2020 in Khanuni village, Ryaz subdistrict, 50 km southwestern Kirkuk.

Hussein Najim, head of 56th Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF) brigade in Hawija, said, “we conducted an operation and unfortunately we found the dead bodies of the two person a few kilometers away from their village.”

The bodies show that they were shot many times and the security forces have given them back to their families.

Abid Sabah, 27, and Qassem Mohammed, 26, were students. They were kidnapped at 5 a.m. on February 3, 2020 in their village.

This incident is one of the many kidnapping incidents in Kirkuk and the other disputed areas. on Thursday, January 30 seven people were abducted in a fake checkpoint by unknown gunmen, allegedly ISIS members, in Qara Tapa subdistrict in Diyala province.

In last several days, in southern and western Kirkuk, two ISIS attacks have been counteracted, resulting in the killing two members of the security forces according to PMF and Security Cell Media.

The security apparatus of the city is at the hand of 61st  brigade and domestic police which are also under the Kirkuk’s Commander of the Joint Forces. The districts and subdistricts are controlled by ISF, Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF), and federal police.
